Mike R. Cooney was a Democratic member of the Montana Senate, representing District 40 from 2002 to 2010. He served as the President Pro Tempore. He was Sec retary of State from 1989 through 2001, and a member of the Montana House of Representatives from 1976 through 1980. Cooney received an appointment as administrator of the Workforce Services Division at the state Department of Labor and Industry. In 2010 he was appointed interim director of the Montana Historical Society.[1]
